What this page is for

This guide helps you connect Roocops to your Discord server so your guild can use /warroom, check-ins, reports, board images, bidder images, and bidding notices.

Before you start

You need:

  • Permission to manage your Discord server or invite bots.
  • Access to your Roocops guild settings.
  • One Discord channel for War Room messages.
  • Optional separate channels for check-ins, outputs, notices, and reports.

Add Roocops to your Discord server

  1. Click the invite or install button.
  2. Choose your Discord server.
  3. Approve the requested permissions.
  4. Return to Roocops Settings.

Permissions in plain language

Roocops needs permission to view channels, send messages, embed links, attach files, read message history, use slash commands.

You do not need to give the bot Administrator permission.

Add Roocops Bot to Discord

Turn on Discord Developer Mode

  1. Open Discord.
  2. Click User Settings.
  3. Go to Advanced.
  4. Turn on Developer Mode.

Copy your Discord Server ID

  1. Right-click your Discord server icon.
  2. Click Copy Server ID.
  3. Paste it into Roocops Settings under Discord Server ID.

Copy your channel IDs

Roocops needs a War Room Channel ID. The other channel IDs are optional.

Important

You do not need to fill every optional channel. If you leave one blank, Roocops will use the War Room Channel.

Save settings and send a test message

  1. Open Roocops Dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Paste your Discord Server ID.
  4. Paste your War Room Channel ID.
  5. Optionally paste the other channel IDs.
  6. Click Send Test Message.
  7. Check Discord to make sure the bot posted correctly.

Use /warroom

After setup, use /warroom in Discord.

Current command reference

These are the visible global commands. Start with /warroom when you are not sure what to use.

Linking members safely

Members should run /link-request using their exact Roocops roster name.

Officers approve link requests from Roocops Roster or from /warroom -> Roster Tools -> Link Requests.

Roocops does not automatically link someone just because they typed a name. This helps prevent one member from claiming another member's roster identity.

Officers can also add a guild member from Discord through /warroom - Roster Tools - Add Guild Member.

Troubleshooting

Setup path

Follow the simple path: invite the bot, copy IDs, save settings, send a test message, then use /warroom.
